Meteor Pistons work fine. Actually have two ( and a NOS Cylinder and a good used one that I want to build around ). In a pinch a piston for a Husqvarna 394 will work.
Had a some 2094/5 pics in this vid & a pic of a meteor piston for a 2094/5 as well if seeing one might alleviate stress a bit. The tough part is finding new intake parts.
An eBay OEM piston...

Jump past 1/2 way for 2094, and about 3/4 thru pics of both Episan and Meteor pistons. Nice looking stuff.

Had a jonsered 2095 dropped off today to check over. Noticed missing muffler and scored piston from get go. Broken off brake handle. Doesn't turn over.
If I remember right from passing on these over the last few years. Parts are hard to find if I remember right?

Just reading and learning. I know I have past one on Craigslist for $200 or best not long ago in Ohio.
Justsaws from Zanesville Ohio posted this in 08. 2095s sold for $950.00 with 24"-36" b/c setups new.
Average used price for good running saws in good condition seems to be around $400-$600.00. Have yet to see any used ones sell for over $600.00, the last couple new old stocks went for $900.00.
Parts are still available BUT MANY ARE NO LONGER MADE AND WHEN THEY ARE GONE THAT IS IT OR SO I WAS TOLD. I do not know if that is true.
-
Jacob J = There are no big bore kits for the 2094/2095 and the Husqvarna 394/395 top ends will not work on the Jonsereds. The case and cylinder heights on the 2094/2095 are different from any other saw.
I recently rebuilt a 2094 and I have one left to do. A Meteor 395 piston kit works well in the 2094/2095. The case gasket and base gaskets are still available as new parts through any Jonsered dealer.
The air filter is also still available new but many other parts are not available anymore.
-
Found PHO price back in 2002 NEW MSRP $ 831 pho
-
Justsaws = The main differences between the 2094 and 2095 are the ring locating pins are further apart on the 95 and handle bars can be different. The 94 was also sold without a decomp. valve. The exhaust port on the 2095 is shaped different. The 2095 is a fine saw and will pull a 36" bar with ease. It was the last saw sold by Jonsered that had any Jonsered design left in the crankcase, muffler, and carb setup. Otherwise the last of the good Jonsereds. I buy any that I find as they are one of my favorite modern large saws. Very nice with a 3/8 8 pin and a 24" bar.
-
2095 DLG TEST http://www.dlg-test.de/pbdocs/4627.pdf
-
All torn down. Rings were rusted to the cylinder, reason for feeling locked up. Exhaust side scored good and 2 spots on the ext cylinder bevel looks like it may have had something go through. Just looking at crank and rod bearings dont see any missing.
Gilardoni cylinder. Cant find any tell tell for piston make.
@jacob j. does this all sound right so far?
-
Looking up bar mount on this saw. Big SMS (009) taking that means D009 large husky? Has a what looks like 37" Tsumura 3/8 063 on it.
update I just used a bar selector online and it came back to D009.
-
Yes, it should be D009. Husky was quite quick to change the larger Jonsereds from D024 to D009, after they took over production in 1987.
-
1997 right on the black tag. Plus starts out with a 7 with all the numbers on tag.
-
IIRC I have a NOS 2095 PC. If needed I'll check my drawer to be sure.
Shep
-
Those are strong saws. I've used a 2094 and it was probably stronger than a 394. They were built mainly for milling and are heavier than the other 90cc offerings from stihl and husky.
-
This one is going to need split possibly. Not holding mix in crankcase with my redneck way of checking without top. Not seeing where mix is going either. :o
Thinking maybe crankcase gasket leak possibility but to where yet I dont know. :-\
-
Spike or taplinhill
-
I never seen no crap like this, just checked it again. Half the mix out of the crankcase area now, just say 14hrs later, but cant find where it went.
I did look in the oil and gas tanks too. ???

Did you check the oil tank for mix after doing your seal test? Could be leaking past the case gasket into the oil tank if the mix is disappearing and not going past the seals or ending up on the bench....

Yep in post right before yours. I'm puzzled.
-
That's weird. When I made my post, those last two posts of yours weren't displayed. The post I quoted was the most recent one I saw.........and yet they SHOULD have been visible given the time/date stamps. Strange....
Maybe there is a 'dead' cavity in those cases where the mix is going because of a leaking case gasket). I've seen case designs with 'dead' cavities. Would have to split it or at least look at a case gasket for those to know if that's the case (pun not intended) with these. Of course.....if there is a cavity that is filling..........eventually it will no take any more mix..... 8)

Thats what I was thinking and been looking for a pic of 2095 or even a 2094 crankcase half.
Weird on the post not showing for you.
-
I had a similar problem with a 2094. It was a small leak somewhere between the 2 tanks. Had to use motorcycle sealer to fix. Holding up so far. At least I haven't heard anything from the guy. pizz poor design if you ask me. ::)
-
I'm still at a stand still because I dont want to split it if the guy isnt going to have me rebuild it. I wouldnt put the $$$ in it myself, but you never know.

Thanks. I forgot about using a IPL
Appears to be a dead space right behind crank area and in front of mix tank.

I see it too. If you end up splitting it for the guy..............betcha there's mix in that cavity.

Got some pics loading of the tear town. Notice the 2 indentations on the piston top exhaust side and the cylinder upper exhaust. Wonder if as bearing or other foreign object did this or some idiot put a screwdriver in there and did this?

That's the way it was in 1997, 1998 and early 1999.

I have a PoulanPro S25DA that some moron put a BOLT into the exhaust port to lock the engine for clutch removal. There are two 1/2 circle impressions (threaded) in the piston. I haven't pulled it apart to examine the cylinder yet. From what I can see through the exhaust port, the piston and cylinder were pristine before the moron did his thing.......
-
That's a new one! Shame..
-
Betting that is what someone might of did with this one. But used a screwdriver.
Looked like a new rim was installed.
-
Cant remember who had contacted me wanting this saw to build if I ever got it traded in. It is now mine and needs crankcase split to fix a gasket leak IMO. The cylinder looks like a new one, but needs the bevels cleaned back up and scoring cleaned up. Needs piston kit for sure.
Other wise it is torn down into parts except for splitting the crankcase.

It may have been me. They make a good mill saw.

Hey I know you. Welcome to the site.
I just sold that parts saw posted here. But the guy I sold to has many. I can ask him. Send me a list of parts needed.
-
Thanks for the welcome. The saw fell off a truck and the rear handle got smashed off and lost along with all the trigger mechanism, so I need the complete assembly.
-
Sent him email. If he says he will let 2095 parts go, I will get your info so you 2 can contact each other.
-
I havent heard anything back yet.
Check with Scott also, member name here chainsawr his store http://store.chainsawr.com/
He has some 2095 parts listed. Lot of times he has parts that he hasnt got to listing so try and contact him. http://store.chainsawr.com/search?page=1&q=jonsered+2095

Researching it seems the partner K950 topend are used for replacements on these when needed.
Even aftermarket ones out there.
