Has anyone ever ordered from this site? I did this morning and received a strange call 1/2hr later. A gentleman I assume is a rep for solo tells me that the part I ordered was obsolete and the new part was cheaper. ...great but now it gets strange...He needed my cc # & information to cancel my previous order & place my new order????? I asked if he could cancel and I just reorder..He puts me on hold and comes back saying it will take 24hrs to process the original info but I will have to contact him with once again my cc info tomorrow to cancel? ??? ...He did email me with all the new information and his # & extension. ...not trying to be paranoid but this seems odd

Compare what info you got from him with the website and see if there is a match?

Solo USA is in Virginia, compare the number he left with the Virginia area code and prefix to see if he is calling from where they are. I have ordered from them before but I placed a phone order so was told that the part I was trying o order was NLA. Their web site seems to be out of sync with what is really available. This was an older Solo 654 aka Homelite 340, I was able to get a NOS Homelite part from Rothmansales.com.

Just woke up and checked the Google the phone # & it is legit.....can't be to cautious. ...that is very fast & good cs...just not that common for a company to be that on top of things...

Well since all the #'s checked out I went ahead with the call to the rep this morning and everything seems ok. Even added to my order as i forgot to order another part that i needed as well. Very proactive customer service which is great but surprising considering that Solo does not push their product very hard in the U.S. I told a gentleman here locally that his homelite chainsaw was actually a rebadged solo. he stated that he had never heard of them while his friend chimed in that solo did make saws but they went out of business in the 60's & I was full of .....well needless to say I feel somewhat "solo" by having knowledge of Solo chainsaws here in the sunflower state.

Must of the chainsaw manufacturer's websites have old or inaccurate info.
