Title: Jonsered 2152 leaing bar oil
Post by: John Mc on June 11, 2011, 07:33:35 am
I've got a Jonsered 2152 that leaks bar oil, and has since just about the day I bought it. This is not just oil dripping out from retained wood chips around the clutch area... I get a puddle under the saw even if I clean it off after using it. The dealer says that "some of these saws just do that" - I have a hard time believing this can't be fixed. He also suggested I try loosening the oil cap so pressure doesn't build up due to temperature changes when I store it... that did not stop the problem.

Any ideas on where I should start to look?

I no nothing about a 2152.  My WAG though.  I have seen a 346 and 372 leak from get go and it was from stripped out hole pump bolt on one and the o-ring mating surface from oil pump to crankcase on other.

Probably the oil pump hose not sealing where it passes through the tank. If so, it would need to be replaced.
