Title: 038 tank/handle
Post by: winland on May 10, 2014, 07:47:47 pm
I picked up a nice running 038 magnum awhile back.
It needs a new handle.
I have seen on fleabay that the Asian Hutzl has one for about $40
I have seen lots of threads here and elsewhere about Hutzl parts.
Mostly positive comments.
Should I go with a "new" Hutzl or used original?

When replacing the handle/tank are there other associated part that I should change at the same time?

Chuck

Any of the 038/380 handles will fit .The 038 AV  however is aluminum alloy and more prone to breakage .I have no idea about after market .

Just watch you use the correct bolts .The wrong bolts on the lower front if too long will vibrate a hole through bottom of the crankcase .The plastic cases use something that looks like a blunted wood screw

I have the fleabay one, just a heads up... The gas tank is not a 100% the same dimensionally as the oem tank. You will need to use the supplied air filter cover as the Herzl unit is larger.
