Title: Problem starting my ms290
Post by: bardos on July 06, 2014, 07:44:54 am
I don't use the chainsaw all that much. I leave i laying around a lot. Anyway, just a few days ago I went to start it up and it fired fine. The the day after there was no way it would fire. So I leave it for a day or two and then it starts up fine. I have had this problem for a while now and I bring it in to my local chainsaw person who will clean filters, carb abd change my plug... blah blah blah... but then it reverts to the same behaviour. Any advice? thanks

Dump the old fuel mix that has been sitting out in the garage all winter into the truck/car.  Always start with fresh fuel mix, that you mixed yourself.  Then when your done using the saw, dump the fuel mix back into the can and run the carb dry.  This keeps any varnish or ethanol separation from happening.  If you store it dry, it should be a couple pull starter every time you need it.
