Everything that was bad on one was; I won't say good, decent on the other one. $35 and some spare parts left over. Fires right up and cuts well once I sharpened the chain and filed the rakers.

Great job. I did the same thing a while ago (two partial 3400's in a box made one good runner). Sold the runner on feebay a while back, and still have some parts left over.

The other saw was stiff when I tried to turn it over. The one I made a runner turned over well and and had fairly good compression. Pulled the jug on the stiff one after I got the other one running and it was just lacquered up. Piston and cyl are both decent.

Nice job and good firewood saw.

A little on the heavy side, but a fun saw to run with a 16" bar.
I cut some cherry with it. Then started working some issues. Tank vent was dry rotted. Extra piece of fuel line and a screw fixed that, Loose intake screw that I had tightened backed out again. A little lock tight seems to have gotten that. Worked on the tune, the idle screw was backed way out.

Yes they are on heavy side but dependable and they get the job done. Most of the cutting I have done with mine is bucking up logs for splitting. When I go up into the mountains I like using saws that have chain brakes on them.

I was using a 3700 last weekend to help some friends and put about five tanks through it. The high screw kept backing out which I guess is better than the opposite. I guess a little spring stretch is in order. Great saw though. The friend was using a 4620 and the 3700 was about 2-1/2 cuts to his one.
Great fun.

That little 4620 cannot come close to what a 3700 can do. I believe the one I have will keep up with a 4000.

I like these old green saws. Built like a tank. I am going to have to keep my eye out for a 3700 and or a 4000 I guess.
