Post by: pigpen60 on October 16, 2014, 07:19:59 pm
was tired and had 1 saw left to clean(echo 271t) and sharpen, well I got it done but I used the next size up file(cant remember size). I pulled the correct file out but its opened up too far for that. it still cuts but not like it did before I screwed up. thoughts?

I've opened 3/8LP chain 5/32 file  up to 3/16 .325 files before.   On purpose.  ;D

Taken .325 3/16  like stihl RS chain to 13/64 and 7/32 before too.

A bigger file than normal will change your hook angle a little but you may not notice it in the cut?

The chain is not forever ruined. Just use the correct file next time.

I did it for testing back in the day.
