Post by: pete on October 20, 2014, 07:54:34 am
I have a titan 57 parts saw bit of blue on the piston exhaust side but no scoring and a very low compression double eagle fifty I have used other parts from the donor for my other DE 50s and am wondering would a piston cylinder swap be straight forward changeover cheers

a de50 is a titan 50 and the bore and stroke are different. soak the 57 piston until you can gently remove the rings, clean the ring grooves reinstall and put the 57 back together. Well tuned 57s are beasts for their size but titan 50s are average in power comparison. ever want to sell titan or de50 stuff let me know as i exclusively run titans.

the titan 50 and 57 are the exact same bottom end. just different bores.

double eagle 50 bore. 1.772inches stroke 1.260inches titan 57 bore 1.850inches stroke1.299inches. You can make it work yes because the roughly .040 difference can easily be made up or taken up, however this also affects performance because of timing and port heights. bottom line swap crank clusters to make em run as originally intended. the de50 and titan 50 actually have their dimensions listed slightly different as stoke respectively is listed as 1.260 and 1.259 but as measured the de50s stroke has been rounded up they are the same have many of both.
