Adam is this that stock stihl 084 I traded you awhile back?  Looks like the piped 084 project turned out good for the big wood cutting out west.   8) 8)

Here is where I tested the 105dl square I had set up for gtg's.

Testing in 23" spruce full skip.

Wrong saw Al. That was my stock 084 work saw I rebuilt.

The 084 piped saw you ran was at PBS Paul Bunyan  show and the piped dolmar 166 was at Chardon.

Here is the piped 084 you ran with stock cylinder head and pump gas.

I forgot about that  :-[. That was a WV woods ported 084 work saw on muffler. That saw lives with a 50" plus bar in hardwoods ripping now days.

 My WAG  Is 1 and 3  ;)  They timed the fastest and 2 stock ? Then again with that much grunt you could push on one harder then the other. I'm really clueless.   :P

Close guess...1 was your full comp, 2 was your skip, and 3 was one I did...

That proved what others had said about the full comp being faster  with a motor that can pull it.  8)

I had good motors on a 75cc and 92cc but the skip was always fastest on them with 32"  Guess the 084 said hey watch this.  ;D

Did you say you had stock porting with 2 piece head on that 084?  Looks like it was cutting good in that cut.

So what class did you have to run in with the pipe on it? How did you finish and  any time comparisons?

No external transfers or anything special...

Classes were gas hotsaw and alkie hotsaw (but we all ran gas). I got 2nd in the gas class, was ONE second behind first. And 3rd in the alkie class...

I'll get some vids up of the other guys today maybe.

Yea...4ci I took 3rd, 6ci I ran my 5 cuber with a too short of bar and got bound up. My Dad ran my 91dl chain in the chain test and took 3rd with it also...

Great video's .  Neat to watch the big wood cuts.

We only have the small wood 3 cut racing out this way.  Up to 12" round for chainsaw cased saws.
