Welded this handle back together.   Have another one to do also that was broken almost in the same exact spot.

If you let knowledge of that skill get spread around, you will be a very popular guy.
That was a weak spot on those handles. I've never broken one but have seen a pickup load that were.

3400 welding handles   :o 8)

If I ever have to split my 415 475 445 I was going to call on ya. To fix my redneck fixes and to do it right with your sweet welding.

P.S. I lost your # with carrier and phone change. So would PM first to hook back up.  But hopefully I will never have to split.

So I finished welding up the 2nd broken handle and I am comparing it to the other one I did before and it looks different.    I did not have the other side of the handle sent to me so I fitted the 2 broken pieces together I thought pretty straight.   Man was I wrong.   I took one of my saws apart and tried to fit the handle on there and neither one was even close.   So that means I have to break apart the weld or try anyways and re-weld them again.   I am not happy about this and will never make this mistake again.  You might say steam is coming out my ears.

Been there and done that on machinery pieces in the past.

Well I got off my butt today and fixed those handles I screwed up.
They were really crooked.   I put them on a Poulan 4000 I have and marked them and cut them in half with a hack saw and then got them all straightened out and welded them while on the saw.
So both handles are now done and I can ship them back.

I learned a few things when doing these handles and in the end I was happy to get them done for a fellow chainsaw collector such as myself.   Thanks.

Didnt even think about that. Is that those 2 same sides I seen earlier?

Nice work and catch, I hope before sending back.
