Title: Service parts and supplies for a collection, Getting started..
Post by: Craigwell on January 21, 2015, 08:19:49 pm
Hello all,

Thanks for having me on the forum. I've kicked around AS for a bit, and am quite familiar with that and Acres site as well.

In November, my saw collection went from 8 to over 100. I bought a collection from a gentleman here in Nova Scotia, and I've been having quite a time cataloging them, sorting out the runners, parting with or bartering a few that weren't priorities, and of course - cutting my firewood with more than a few.

I'm starting to stock up on supplies to service, repair, restore them.

I quickly realized that I needed some starter rope, so I ordered 100' rolls in 2 different sizes - 57/64 and 9/64.

Next on my list is fuel line and filters.

I'd like to order some in different sizes in spec, but I'm just wondering if anyone can comment on some standard or typical sizes that I might order.
Also wondering if there are good online sources beyond eBay.
I have seen banta saw here in Canada, wondering if there are others I might check out. Forgive me if it's right under my nose.

Saws I have:

Pioneers: 600 650 NU17 1100 series P25 1074 P38

McCullochs: Havent sorted them yet, but  - D33 Le Sabre, 35, 550, 10-10 and all kinds of 80's Pro and Mini Macs
Poulan: 3400, 3700, Super XXV and other Micro variants from different manufacturers
Jonserereds: 621's
Husqvarna: 50R, 238se, 240se
Stihl: 08S, 011, 015

Thanks, Cut4fun_ I did poke around a couple, and I will take a closer look. Thinking about what might be most friendly as far as shipping to this neck of the woods is concerned.
