Specs of the 65cc 2165 to compare.

PHO weight seems to gained on the new one. I didnt noticed it on the new 372  when looking at it.

Yeah, the 2166 is the Red version of the 365XT. Just sold another one today. Weights should be the same regardless of color, as virtually every component is shared.

One improvement over the 2165 is that the 2166 shares the two piece top cover and air filter with the 2172. Easier to keep tract of the parts, and of course it's quicker to get to the air filter.

Is there a big difference in the power between the 2166 and 2172?

3.6 kW vs 4.1, or 4.9 hp vs. 5.6.

I think if a guy was going to open one up to do port work it wouldnt matter. I think I would buy the 2166 and make it a beast. Unless they done something that a bit cant fix  ;D.

I knew what the specs say. I was wondering if there's a big difference per say with a 24" bar. For the cost difference I would think the 2166 is the best deal.

They certainly haven't done anything that can't be fixed. About the easiest fix I've ever see really.  ;D

Nobody's actually figured this out yet, so I think I'm going to have to do a little "revelation" thread here. Maybe with a few pics. We'll have some fun with it too.

So, has anyone bought a 2166 and converted it to a 2172?   I believe all that need be done is to grind away the restrictor plates?  Thnx n advnc.

I believe that statement is true, the motors are the exact same once the restrictor plates are gone.
EHP I believe has done one or is about to do one.
A 372 motor is about as good as it gets

Cool.  I'll be looking forward to see how that turns out for Ed.  They say the 2172 is as strong as an xpw.  Thats awesome.

Yes the NY dealer gives good deals.

The 562 will go for $630 to $730 depending on who is buying and PHO through bar length.
