Title: Ignition Coil Reserection --Revisited
Post by: Giles on May 23, 2015, 10:18:40 am
Some time ago, I posted this topic. (you can do a search).
I just got finished reviving a Redmax G300TS Ignition Module  with this procedure. It was stone dead, and I stood and watched the spark go from tiny red to blue that would jump 3/16". Saw cranked with two pulls and ran perfect. I don't know if this is a temporary fix but have no complaints so far.
I have revived 3 out of 5 coils but some were DEAD.
Anyone know why this works or why they go bad to begin with?  Seems like after a saw set for a number of years they go dead?

Years ago we would dry them out in a low temperature oven.
