While down in KY near the lake. I noticed in Benton KY they sold NON-ethanol gas 87 octane $2.89 along side other pump with 10% ethanol 87 octane $2.59. That was the only grade of gas sold though, 87 octane.
ethanol free

Doesn't the ethanol take up the octane rating a bit? Does that mean they start with extra crappy fuel and add alky?

Ethanol free gas stations. If you know of others help them out and notify them so they can update their list. http://pure-gas.org/

These wont be ethanol free though. ;)
Another site I like using. Gas prices map. You can put in your zip code or Search by City, State and see the best prices at the gas stations in your area. I have seen 20-30 cents difference at times. http://www.ohiogasprices.com/Price_By_County.aspx

OK this is just me ok, On my autotune saws I much prefer the 10% ethanol high test gas over non ethanol gas , reason is if you take a saw that runs a carb and set it at as close to perfect for max power that you can then switch to gas with ethanol in it you will find the ethanol fuel burns abit leaner than non ethanol gas , In the autotune saws that run in my air they all run rich so the ethanol gas helps make them run leaner . If you are only after horsepower and given the choice of high test non ethanol pump gas or E85 fuel , No contest the E85 produces alot more power but you have to do lots of carb work to pump enough fuel to the motor , Its about half way between gas and 12026 alcohol/nitro fuel as far as the amount of fuel you need to burn to make power
most people donot think or even know that the more ethanol you can put threw the motor the more power you make , yes a gallon of gas makes more power than a gallon of straight ethanol BUT you can burn up to about 1 1/2 times the volume of ethanol compared to gas so with crab work ethanol makes more power than gas , I have done lots of playing with stuff like E85 and it makes pretty big torque and I find about half way to what we call 120 race methanol for jetting but its about 75% of the power but you can make the motor cut for quite abit longer in cut time over methanol , I would think E85 would make a real good big wood race fuel

While picking up the e-free 90 octane today it was $3.59. Pretty cool the new station just a hop skip down the road now.

FIRST OF ALL I LIVE IN THE UNITED KINGDOM
All petrol in the UK ranges from 95 to 101 RON
In general normal unleaded fuel has 10% ethanol in it.
the higher octane fuel may have ethanol in it but it depends where in the country you live.
I'm in Swansea. Wales and it seems as if i might be lucky in that the higher
octane fuel contains no ethanol.
I have converted to high octane fuel in my machines this year. the octane rating is 99 RON.
I purchase it from my local supermarket where i also fill my car and have never had any problems.
As a safety precaution i use Ethanol shield additive in both 2 and 4 stroke engines. I use
Stihl HP Super 2 stroke oil which also has stabiliser in it
THE ONLY PROBLEM IS THAT HIGH OCTANE PETROL COST £1.40 PER LITRE (OUCH) AND RISING ALMOST EVERY DAY

My local e-free 90 rec highest I seen it
pic shows all 4 and the red is the e-free line.
