Post by: Cut4fun . on June 20, 2015, 12:02:22 pm
Just put this together to try and help a guy with starting a little poulan.   Took some from owners manual and added some of my own words.  Copied it to give with saw as I wont be seeing him. Friend dropping off saw to new owner.

Little poulans with primer bulbs.

COLD START
Turn switch to ON
Slowly press primer bulb 6 times
Squeeze and hold throttle trigger up and With thumb press fast idle lock down to set fast idle, then release throttle trigger. With Fast idle lock button pushed down should stay when releasing trigger.
Pull Choke knob out all way.
Pull the starter rope handle quickly 5 times and listen for POP of motor trying to start. IF POPS on 2nd pull stop and push choke in.
NOTE:
If the engine sounds as if it is trying to start before the 5th pull, stop pulling and immediately proceed to the next step.
Push the choke knob in completely and pull the starter rope until the engine starts. Saw will be on fast idle so chain will start moving. Let saw warm up on fast idle a bit then BLIP trigger to take off fast idle.
Allow the engine to run for approximately 5seconds.  Then, squeeze and release throttle trigger to allow engine to return to idle speed.

STARTING A WARM ENGINE:  Move ON/STOP switch to the ON position.
Push the choke knob IN completely.
Slowly press primer bulb 6 times
Squeeze and hold throttle trigger. With thumb press fast idle lock down,  then release throttle trigger.
Sharply pull the starter rope with your right hand until the engine starts
Squeeze and release throttle trigger to allow engine to return to idle speed.
