Title: Echo bar adapters 12mm to 8mm D176
Post by: Cut4fun . on July 15, 2015, 02:30:38 pm
Just getting the word spread here in echo board.

Echo bar adapters 12mm to 8mm D176  to run the stihl bars on your D176 mount Echo.

This member will be doing the ordering  Nathaniel Vansickle . @Nathaniel Vansickle  http://performanceoutdoorequipment.com/

Cannon is now making adapters for P4 (8mm) to S1 (12mm) allowing Echo saws to accept a Stihl mount bar. They should be released for sale in 3 weeks or so and my plan is to place an order first of next week. So for anyone wanting Cannon bars or adapters let me know what you want and I will add it to the order.

Bar adapters

S1 (12mm) to P4 (8mm) $6.76

also

S1 (12mm) to H1 (9mm) $6.76

Thread in the where to buy online from dealers etc. http://chainsawrepair.createaforum.com/used-chainsaw-parts-online/performance-outdoor-equipment-dolmar-parts/msg59602/#new

Thanks. I debated where to post that and decided the dealers thread was probably the best.

Echo adapters dont fit the 590/600/620. outside of studs on the 620 is 1.885 and the adapters have a spacing of 1.725. So now the question is what all will these Echo adapters fit?

part of that was me....i dont have a cs-800 to check spacing on. D176 mount to S1...i assumed all the echo saws had the same spacing on the studs but never physically measured them. just eyeballed it.

I bet those are patterned off older D176 mount saws.  I will measure my Poulan, Echo, Homelite, and Lombard D176 mount saws this weekend.  Kevin if I don't post up here by Sunday evening please give me a ring or a text.  My memory isn't the best....

I measured various D176 mount saws today.  Early XL-12.  Homelite XL-800/850.  Poulan 3400.  Poulan 5200.  Lombard Cyclone.  Echo CS500VL.  Pioneer 11-60.  They all come up as being around 1.556" outside edge to outside edge.  They all fit these "S" stud spacer clips that were once common for adapting a D096/D196/UXL bar onto an A176/D176 mount saw.   That's narrower enough than the adaptors that you've received that I am not sure if they'd fit any D176 saw that I know of.  Too wide for the older saws, and too narrow for the current Echos.  Hmmm.....

'S' Spacer as used on all older A176/D176 mount saws that I am aware of.

Same 'S' spacer on the studs of an Echo CS500VL.

I just bought 10 of them (and 2 of the shorter ones used on Homelite Super E-Z and XL-101 series saws) from Joyce the Chainsawlady.  Had a few already, and couldn't pass up the chance to have a bunch more when she posted them for sale.

IIRC, GB cataloged their versions of the S clip recently.  The link to the GB catalog is in a thread here somewhere (IIRC, Cut4fun posted it).  If I remember right, one of their spacers is for the same D176 to D196/UXL adaptation, and they had 2 or 3 more clips (different thicknesses of wire) for other adaptations.  Now I need to find that thread...

I checked my 8000. It's the same as the 6700. coutesy of rmotoman over on AS. So I am putting a call in to Cannon to ask WTF they patterned these adapters off of as soon as they open today.

ok so i just got off the phone with cannon and these adapters were made to fit the smaller series of echo saws. Am i the only one that thinks this is dumb? i need this explained to me why we need to install a medium stihl mount bar on a 40-50cc echo saw? last i checked only the 590/600/620/670/800 were labeled as D176 mount? Am i having a blonde moment or what?

Smaller echo's. That dont make since IMO.

My smaller echo 3900 uses A095 K095 .325. Other A041.  ???

Curve ball for sure.  I think they just fubarred.

??? is right. I double checked the catalog and D176 is 590 and up. below that is ko41 and such so i wasnt dreaming. Doesnt make sense to me either. guess i have a pile of adapter to throw in the scrap bin unless i can figure out something that they fit. i have a 400EVL i checked and the adapters dont fit it either. I will have to check the CS-400 when i get home. Sold all my echo saws off the shelf except the 620, 590, and 310. thinning the herd before fall order time so i cant check any of those. I did find that it will fit over the studs on the 5105 but they have the chain adjuster inbetween the studs so i cant put my 36" Stihl bar on the 5105 either.  >:(

Thats good that they offered.

Cannon adapters dont work so Homelite410 came through with some adapters based on his husky adapters that should prove pretty useful for a wide range of saws.

Sweet.  I've been bugging Mike to make up those D176-to-12.1mm Stihl adaptors for a while now. :D

I had asked him about them a few months ago but he was busy and cannon told me about them having one so i didnt pursue it any further. Since the cannon adapters are a bust Mike stepped in to the rescue. I figured taking his husky adapter and changing it to 8mm was the quickest/easiest way plus it should fit almost every single d176 saw out there.
