Title: ebay and epa say bye bye to carb tools
Post by: DefinitiveDave on September 16, 2015, 08:08:56 pm
Ebay pulled my listing apparently at the behest of the EPA for the 4 piece carb adjust tool set, lots of guys selling them on Ebay and Amazon, but apparently not for long.
Ebay said not to relist with new language.
I think I have 30+ sets left, but it isnt worth losing selling on Ebay over one item.
I wonder how long till they start pulling all my OEM stihl carb tools.
I have been ordering them in much smaller qty so I don't end up with boxes full if they nix my listings.
if you think you might need them grab them up from someone while they are still around.

I seen your ebay ad for them. Was a good deal and looked like the ones I ordered from overseas and had shipped in.
If you had them when I was looking for 2nd set I would have got yours being your USA. :)

List them here in your where to buy online thread or in for sale section. Only members signed in can see those areas. ;)

I don't think I participate enough here to hawk my wares :)  I like the site just so busy and so scatterbrained.
If someone needs a set let me know I will get them to you cheap, but don't feel obligated.
This was really just a heads up because the EPA is adopting new tactics.

The EPA nerds are kidding themselves!!! They are just wasting tax payer $$$

When there is a will there is a way. People will find a way around all the EPA crap.

The place where I work received notice from the EPA to stop adjusting the carburetors on the 2 cycle equipment I work on.   We do a lot of warranty work for the big box stores around here and a lot of the problems are just a simple carb adjustment.   It really is stupid nonsense but they risk a big fine if they do not comply.

Racing vehicles (karts, bikes, sleds, saws) don't fall under EPA regs.

rewording the add on Ebay may get them off your back.  The guys who modify mufflers did the same on ebay years back

I think Wojo got some nasty grams from Ebay about the non epa mufflers he sold.  Changed the description to read competition use only and he's been good since...

The EPA is helping themselves to get a feather in their hat?
Perhaps that feather needs installed in another part of the anatomy.

In my minds eye it would seem that certain restrictions placed on equipment do little to stop an innovating type of mechanic .Just like padlocks which keep out amateurs ,they do very little except cause lose of time to a pro .

--bring it on, I for one like the challenge----- ;)

I seen one the other day a guy showed pics of. I for the life of me never seen this one on the needles. I told him just cut a slot for the flat screwdriver and he did. Fine now.

Think I should merge the 2 threads since this one has run its course for attended purpose?
