says number 7 on casting just got it at flea market 15 bucks. anyone know anything about them.
-
Combo unit?
-
correct is a combo says NG 7 big heavy thing
-
What kind of shape are all the four breaker punches and did the three spinner heads and two thrust screws come with it? What about the breaker anvil (die)?
Those NG7's are rather expensive to buy a new one complete ($360 at Bailey's)

no punch no die only one thrust washer and screw otherwise looks unused
-
I'm sure you can get your needed parts from the Stihl dealer
-
I bought one new from Stihl and it was well made but a pain in the ass to use in that the unit had to be flipped on my bench to effectively use the breaker/spinner. Poor ergonomics...
-
yes maybe if I mount it on end of bench can stand it. is punch same as oregon
-
Not sure on compatibility, looks the same as old style Oregon/Herr punch.
-
anyone know dimensions for the punch I like the youtube guys needle bearing punch. I have antique metal lathe
-
The punches are made like the old style Oregons that were made by Herr.
-
If I seem like I never broke and repaired a chain that is true.

ok learning slowly about to try to make punch got a 5/16 grade 8 bolt set up in lathe will turn down shank to .250 to fit inside press leave shoulder in middle make easy to remove when it breaks cut set screw groove. will have to wait till I get punch block to cut length on punch end. i need a dimension on a unused 3/8 lp rivet to know proper size for my punch end. found a 1/2 inch 7 inch long fine thread bolt will make a rivet head former. if someone would give me dimension on rivet head forming dimple at end of bolt it will help. this may be from any brand that forms a good rivet head. parts I got with it were for regular 3/8 I am making parts for 3/8 low profile
-
Factory head diameter for stihl 3/8 LP is 4mm. Shank is 3.97 and the "stub" that is formed into the shop made rivet head (spinner) is 2.67mm
-
Head height is .56mm

magnum was right. the old style oregon punch fit perfect. new style spinner heads work. I got three breakers and two spinners at the cow sale flea market for 20 bucks.
