Title: Brain picking for 562 issues
Post by: weimedog on November 29, 2015, 01:23:23 pm
Have a 562 that will stall after a few minutes in the cut.. then won't restart for quite a while. I did check tank vent...

I was going to say to read the codes and see what the data log says but that's the problem . . . You'll have to get Spike to read them?

I picked up one very reasonable a while back.  Then found out they were coming out with a new system and weren't supporting the old one.  I guess I bought an expensive reader.

Any idea of the part number of what you bought vs. the new one??

Get it running again, and when it acts up again and quits, very quickly check to see if you have fire to the plug.  If not, than it may be the coil or other related ignition componants.

The old system PN is: 583 89 71-01.  Don't know the new one.  Found out on AS in a thread can't remember thread.  I posted in that thread shouldn't be hard to find the post.  Would loan it to you if you want to use and send back to me. PM me w/address if so.

About the only feed back I can get is TPI data. Nothing about things like Oxygen & Heat in the exhaust as there is no active sensor device there like on motorcycle or car systems. So can't tell if its fuel starvation thing, an ignition thing or what. Probably because I don't understand the system enough. This is an area I need to explore. And... is there a direct relationship between modules and carbs?? Can you mix them? Almost seems as if the carb tuning is fixed. Don't see anyway of tweaking. Obviously there must be or porting could be risky if the results needs more fuel than a preset system delivers. Lots to learn here for me obviously.

Have a 550 on the bench now with hot start issues. Runs one tank of fuel...then won't restart.

The 550 is used by typical highway types.. wondering if its an over choking issue. Hoping.
