Title: 6400/7300/7900 muffler on a 7910 cylinder
Post by: Eccentric on January 03, 2016, 03:35:12 am
My friend has a Dolkita 6401 that he is going to be putting a 7910 p/c 'kit (with the new top cover) on.  The exhaust port outlet on the 7910 cylinder is larger and differently shaped to work with the funky SLR muffler on the 7910.  Anybody here have experience running the old style muffler on the new 7910 cylinder?

I've done it on a few that were converted. Open the factory muffler up some to port match better. Don't go crazy or all the thick part of the muffler will be gone.

most people that i have run into just bolt it on and go but a little port matching would surely help. IIRC if completely port match the 7900 muffler to a 7910 cylinder the thick reinforcement plate on the flange of the muffler will be gone

Sounds good.  We won't go crazy with the port matching.  Thanks for the info.
