How do you remove the H&L limiters?
C1Q EL33A is the carb it has.
It has pins pressed through the carb casting that only allow the metal caps to back out so far.
Looking like I might need to grind the pins out of the way.
Figured I would ask first in case I am overlooking a easier way.

Check the husqvarna 338 thread here. I remember having to do something on one of mine.

Thanks Kevin.
Didn't find that thread when searching. Will post a copy here incase someone else is searching.
I took a bigger diameter decking or drywall screw and you have to cut the pointy tip off. ;) Then screw into the zinc metal cap to remove pulling straight out with pliers.
Once the L side zinc cap was removed I could adjust the H side without having to remove that one. 8)

Is this what you ran into? Only one of my 2 had this deal.
-
Yes, metal limiters.
Seems they switched carbs in the later years. Earlier ones had the plastic wing style.

Yep that was what my early dated one had too.

Well it was pretty simple.
Took the handle and airfilter cover off to gain more working room.
Used a finish nail and a small hammer to tap the retaining/limiter pins out into the needle area.
Then threaded a deck screw into the caps and pulled them out.
Pulled the muffler and opened up the factory hole.
Re-tuned and ready for some wood now.

This is good to know and sound way better then what ever I did. I fumbled around.
Thanks for the update. 8)
