For many years I've had a Echo PB2400 hand held blower that I like very well. I had to put a metering valve diaphragm, fuel lines, and primer bulb in it about 4 years ago. I probably should put a new grommet in the tank for the vent and fuel lines? It seeps around the edges a little.
I also have a matching SRM2400 straight shaft whacker as my favorite over the several Stihl FS55R's I have. This Echo has had the same rubber problems with the fuel system as the Echo blower.
These Echos are somewhere around 17-18 years old. The 24cc engine is a real torque engine but was discontinued some years ago for EPA reasons when they brought out the new engines.

I have one of the Craftsman leaf blowers. I got it for free because it had low compression. Turns out it had a stuck ring. Tore all down clean it and put it all back together and did not have to replace any gaskets or anything. That was 2 years ago and still running good.

I had two Craftsman blowers and the daughter in law straight gassed them both. They worked as well as my Echo until their end.

started number 2 clean looked new 2014 epa sticker . showed 60 pounds compression. removed muffler side cover. was able to remove cylinder by clipping a little plastic to make room for allen wrench. cylinder is chrome piston looked ok . now what i did next might be stupid i heated top of piston with propane torch not a lot but ring turned loose. let it cool put it in ultrasonic parts cleaner. don't know if i changed hardness of piston or ring . rind was only stuck with bad gas goo not aluminum. I guess test run will tell if this method is stupid. update when i test it ???

cranked second pull ran strong. had to work at freeing ring a little longer. set h screw to just stop four cycling at wide open.hope thats right. number 2 done removed cylinder by only removing muffler side cover. did not remove any screws on fan side of motor.

Sounds good I think you got it.

started number 3 with it inside I could see spark so I checked compression 110 pound. put in fresh mix pulled a dozen times fired off . let it warm up adjusted h screw she ran good. I will run it a few more times but I think it's gonna be fine.

started number 4 grey craftsman 2013 pa sticker . showed 80 pounds compression would not start. could not remove piston easy because of stripped out torx head on crankcase cover . worked ring free anyway. put him together ran like a champ.
