Title: Chainsaw Rebuild ?
Post by: Cut4fun . on March 05, 2016, 08:53:10 am
Was ask this and wonder how the rest of you do it. Price LABOR only for a complete chainsaw rebuild.

Say there is compete saw dropped off. Crankcase has to be split. If that style saw. Talking bearings, seals, etc.

Me I just go by hours it takes and alot of free involved in that when I have a issue.

I just wondered if some have a flat rate for a labor quote for a complete chain  saw rebuild for LABOR?

No flat rate for me. Charge hours that I have in to it. Mark parts up 10%. Also depends on who it is good friends some labor gets over looked.

I try to stay out of fixing other people's stuff but if I weaken labor is straight time. Do you mark up 10% over cost or suggested list? I can get a good discount on Stihl parts, the local dealer is a good friend and I scratch his back too so I won't do Stihl and compete with him. I have to pay full pop on anything else so if I do one for anyone but a close friend parts go up  15%. If he doesn't like it take to the dealer.

My local dealer gives me 10% off of dealer list. So I charge the list cost to the customer. I don't make much but it usually pays for the parts that I ordered for my self.
