Title: 3400-4000 running .325
Post by: leec on July 16, 2016, 06:25:14 pm
Is anybody running .325 on this range of older Poulans?  I work and the Home Depot and our store is clearing 20" bar and chain combo for $14.00.  They are Chinese but should be fine for selling saws on.  Hard to make money on older saws used.  I think all of mine run rim drives

I have never heard of anyone running .325 on one of the countervibe saws.    All of the saws of that series 3400 to 4000 are capable of running .375 with no problem and would probably cut a little faster.    If you want to try .325 there is no rule that says you cannot and if you have a rim setup on it then it is a cheap switch.    I have not seen any bars for those saws in .325 though.

D176 would be good to have on hand, those CV, older echo, some redmax etc. Not so much in 325 though. I have a longer 325 D176 I still havent come across anything to put it on.  Came off a redmax.

Yes of course the bar is wrong for that series.  It will fit a Echo Cs-520 and a Efco CS-56 that I have so not a loss.  If shipping wasn't so pricey I could grab a few and send them out to member who might be interested.
