Post by: Cut4fun . on July 26, 2016, 06:59:43 pm
Is the efco 8200 MT 8200 mt8200 a updated or same 980?  http://www.efcopower.com/products/chainsaws/mt-8200

Seeing them new for $599. Are they NOS like the solo 665 for sale still or are they still making them?

As far as I can remember it is the newest version of the 980. Different ports, coil, carb and air intake. I have the MT7200 and 980. Every exterior piece will interchange. Stroke is different between 70 and 80 cc saws. Good price on the saw. Of all the Efco saws I have or had the 980 7200 are the toughest by far.

solo  38mm stroke 665-681

dolmar makita   37mm stroke 6400-7900

husky  36mm stroke 362-375

poulan  36mm stroke 415-505

husky 38mm stroke 181-288

So that should put the 8200 52mm bore and 38mm stroke.  ;D

I was checking for local dealers, not much info on their online sites. Mt Gilead and Marion.

I  want to know about parts availability too.

Thats why I never touched the nos solo 665's that have been for sale for $500.

Plastics and bar studs.  181 uses D025 mt. 8200 D009.  Only difference I know of I have both.

I watched a video of a local guy cutting with a poulan pro 445 71cc and it was out cutting the efco 8200 stock for stock easily.
