Title: HCS3840B - no spark
Post by: atr on December 12, 2016, 04:28:23 am
Hi
I have a chainsaw model HCS3840B. from what I was able to see - there is no spark. I've dismantled the spark plug and pulled the starter. no spark. could you please guide me how to check the ignition coil and what else would you recommend to do?

How are you checking for spark? If you are using a plug grounded against the crank case, make sure it is a good one. Try a different plug if possible. If still no joy remove the starter and disconnect the wire to the stop switch. If now you have spark the problem is the wire or the switch. If nothing, replace the coil.
