Are there any NOS 346 Huskys around?
-
I have seen some go up for sale on a couple of the other chainsaw sites. For around $625. They are out there.
-
Yep but folks are wanting $600 min USD for them. ::)
I was paying $395-$415 PHO at my local.
-
Skippy here has some. Good guy with nice saws = top $
-
$600 of your dollars equals $790 of mine. $100 to clear border. Throw in shipping $50. I think not so good of a deal.
-
That's not bad. ;D
Heck with tax included I paid over a $1000 Canadian for the little T536Li XP battery saw including charger and battery. Husqvarna threw a spare battery in for free.
Like the way I look at it. If you want to make money you gotta spend money. 8)
-
Does it have to be nos?
-
What do you have? It's not for me, one of the techs at work is looking for another saw. His 346 is getting tired.
-
Just wondering how that NE type 2 adjustable carb version 261 would compare to the NE 346 Art?
-
The last I heard was that they still needed certification. May be up to a year for it to happen.

? for Canada
They were selling them in PA last year.
-
Can't just bring saws in from US or Germany. New models need to be certified for sale in Canada.
-
I will have to look at it again been so long I don't even know what year it is. It is not perfect I used it as a climbing saw a couple of times. If I had to guess I would say 15 tanks at most. Will post some pics later.
-
I took some pics this morning. I could not get photobucket to load. Will try it again after work. What site are you guys using to upload pics with?
-
I take pictures with my phone, open my email on the phone , send an email to myself with resized attachments of the pics to below 399KB size. Open up my email and hit save sending them to my gallery.
Then when making post I hit Attach: Choose file plus more attachments. Hit Post.
Sorry for the long drawn out explanation :D
-
To add you don't have to mess with Photo bucket and someone seeing all your pics.
I clicked on Cahoon's photo bucket once on AS and saw hundreds of his pics including some cool homemade sawchain cutter blanks. I don't know if that's a privacy glitch on AS part.....

Tried the email thing and messed it up. Uploaded using tapatalk. It works. I don't care for the format much. Art let me know if you are interested. I lost a pic or two somewhere. Can post some more if need be.

Good looking saw.

There are signs that the 346xp still may be made, like a new IPL by 2015-07, with an update. Where they are sold is an open question as far as I'm concerned.

I sure hope there made as long as possible, where ever! The 346 & 372, are the cornerstones of the company in my opinion. I'm not near as brand loyal as I used to be after being into a lot of makes, but these 346's both OE, and NE, rank high in my favorites. Love'em. :) LONG LIVE THE 346! Longer there made, the longer parts will be available. ;D

I'm looking at that green fuel cap...is it a catalytic muffler saw.

I'm looking at that green fuel cap...is it a catalytic muffler saw.
It surely was the E-tech (cat) saws that come with them - but often the cat has been "relocated" and/or the cap has ended up on another saw.
The E-tech saws also said "E-tech" in small print on the label of the starter cover, and it doesn't look like that is the case on that particular saw, indicating that either the green cap or the starter cover is not original to the saw.

Looks to be a g model as well.

You guys are looking at 2 different 346's. ;)
Jason's dont have a green cap or G.

Most of them are over here, very few buy a pro class saw without heating.

That last 346 is the one I converted from a 353G model. I do most of my wood cutting in cold weather and helps keep my hands warm. No CAT on this saw. That was the 1st thing that came off :). The green cap will come off someday I guess. I don't mind it all that much. Farthest thing on my mind when I run this saw.

Of course you don't mind that green cap when you run the saw, but I certainly would when looking at it.
Btw, cat mufflers originally were made for "operator environment" some time in the 1990s. It mainly was Husky and Stihl that did it back then, and both admitted it reduced power and increased weight slightly.
At least over here you had to pay extra for it - but at a point (around 2007 or so) it turned into an EPA thing in the US - and it still is used for that in the US, although not by Husky or Stihl - that use the "strato" technology instead.
It may look odd that some brands (like Echo and Chinese saws in general) gets away with not using either - but I suspect that's about the very low power output of most of their saws, which usually means less fuel is consumed.
-
If I was looking for a NE 346 I would be owning that one of Jason's. But I am not. Great price. ;)
