Title: Poulan 2055 Won't Start Again
Post by: gmagic911x on August 02, 2017, 07:35:29 am
I had it started 1 time after replacing the fuel lines, but now it won't start. When the spark plug is removed I see spark and of course it pulls very easy with no compression. With spark plug installed, I can hardly pull it due to the high compression. I don't think I'm able to pull it fast enough to generate the same spark that occurs with no compression which is why it won't start. Why does it pull so hard?

Was the spark plug wet like it could be flooded by any chance.

Take the spark plug out pull it over a few times and blow some compressed air down the spark plug hole.    Do that 3 or 4 times and then try and start it with the throttle wide open and no choke.   If it does not start then pull the plug and if the plug is dry then put it back in and put the choke on with the throttle wide open and try and start it.

I think it's the carburetor.

I think it's the carburetor.

Well it could be and it could be flooding the engine and that is why it is hard to pull over.   The procedure I out lined helps to get the fuel out of the crankcase.
