Title: Oregon CS250 battery chainsaw
Post by: jlithen on August 07, 2017, 08:05:33 am
Hi all, long time no see (or post)

The CS250 I sold had an oil leak and it got fried.
Motor full of oil and I cannot seem to get the controller working with another motor either.

Anyone have any experience servicing these?
Controller is pretty potted and hard to open.
From the outside I see it has Samwha capacitors :(
Not that I expected anything of higher quality in it.

Motor was already opened and cleaned, not sure if it is in a good condition anymore though.
Spare motor + controller are probably too expensive to afford.

I can arrange a few photos if someone is interested :)

I'd like to see what the inside of the saw looks like.

I got one of these from ebay and the motor runs intermittently.  Oregon says they have a repair program that replaces the motor and the controller for $125.  I tore mine apart trying to figure out what was wrong before sending it in.  There is not much to these things inside.  They did say that they are coming with test equipment and tools for a dealer to do diagnosis and repair on the motor or controller.
