I got a McCulloch 610 today and it's missing the part of the muffler, deflector I guess. I looked at an IPL and what it showed for this model don't look right to me, look like there would be a gap between the muffler exit and the deflector, exhaust heat on the cylinder.
It's a model 600041 F
Thanks for any help,
DJ

I have a 605 (IIRC) in the boneyard I think the muffler is there. If you want I'll check. If it's all there and in good shape you can have it for shipping.

That's a heck of an offer but I'd want to pay you something plus the shipping.

Just as general info the 6-10 is a 70 cc model of a 10-10 with a right hand start .The 610 is a later model with a suspension system ,60 cc of which McCulloch must have sold a million of .Mostly high impact plastic, left hand where as the 6-10 was all metal . http://www.acresinternet.com/cscc.nsf/ed1d619968136da688256af40002b8f7/fe817f045cf5830a88256b6200132140?OpenDocument

I'll put a picture later of it. I guess I didn't give enough infomation on it, it says on the sticker,
Pro Mac 610
electronic ignition
cushioned power
Model 600041 F
I think this is like mine

Here's a picture but what I found the PM610 models had different muffler deflecters and that's what is missing, the muffler is there

How do I make these pictures smaller?
Thanks DJ

On that model they often removed the screen because with some time the impulse operated oil pump will leak slightly into the crankcase and clog the screen .They might get a little louder but that's what ear plugs are made for .

This series of saw had a couple of muffler setups as shown in the link. My Silver Eagle 20 looks like it's missing something, but it's not. It just has a screen over the muffler outlet, and the #72 deflector up top. It works fine - the exhaust blows up across the outlet of the cooling air, which blows it out the exhaust vents. If the upper deflector were missing it would be a problem.

Mine looks like this:

Removing the spark screen does help with these - it is pretty restrictive.

Mine only has the muffler, it is missing part # 64 and #66. So I guess that's the parts I need.
Thanks

Yeah you're going to want #64 anyway. That keeps the hot exhaust confined to that area next to the cylinder, and ducts the cooling air around the cylinder to blow the exhaust out.

I thought I saw one on ebay, I'll check back and get it maybe. That would complete my saw and be able to use it.
Is this what I need?

That looks like it - plus you'll need a screw, but something suitable shouldn't be hard to find. That is all mine has, and it was my Dad's saw so I know it was not modified.
