Title: Jonesred 2166 turbo bar oiler
Post by: Fshoup2010 on February 03, 2018, 01:27:36 pm
Hey people I have the CS2166 it is 3 years old just out of warranty, was cutting wood the other day and the blade started to smoke super bad. Shut the saw off took it to the barn and tore it down so I could see where all the bar chain oil was coming from. It has the 24” bar and chain, when I checked the adjustment screw it was all the way out 5 1/2 turns adjusted it back to the recommended turns out. But I still can’t get this thing from poring the bar oil out it’s bad enough my blade smokes when I cut wood with it. All seals appear to be good what am I missing any input will be greatly appreciated. Jonesred is no help now that it is out of warranty.

Manual

The oil pump is adjustable. Adjustments are made by
turning the screw using a screwdriver or combination
spanner. The machine is supplied from the factory set to
1 turn open. Turning the screw clockwise will reduce the
oil flow and turning the screw anti-clockwise will increase
the oil flow.
Recommended settings:
Bar 16"-18"
2 turns from the closed position.
Bar 20"-24":
3 turns from the closed position.
Bar 28" - :
4 turns from the closed position.
