Title: Forester bars
Post by: Cut4fun . on February 16, 2018, 10:28:14 am
Cant find old thread.

Just looked at Forester pro bars. Pretty sad for $50 shipped IMO.

20" Rails were not finished. Light feeling not heavy like the German solid bar it copied.
Had both on hand to compare.

Guy is going to run it on a 3120 to see what happens. ;) Told him I want to see it after some time on it.

For firewood cutters use.

Green labeled solid = Firewood cutters no problems. Wear like oregon powermatch. Now I have read tips go out quicker, but havent seen that here with firewood cutters use.
Powermatch tips interchange from what I read too.

Now a logger just got one of those forester pro chrome looking bars. That will tell me something when he starts using it.

The red labeled white bars seem even better then the green labeled one too.

I dont buy their laminated stuff. To much bad feedback read on them.

I have some of the red labeled bars and so far no issues, but they do not get used heavy or everyday.    I think just keeping the chain sharp and with a good oiler the Forester bars I have will do just fine.

That looks like some king of defect in the metal.    I have never seen a bar do that.

The Forester Platinum 20" bar I have came very well finished.  Surprised to see the bar grooves looking like that.  Makes me think there is a people problem somewhere shipping out bars looking like that.  As a firewood cutter, not loyal to any one brand and would like to try out different bar/brand combos in the future.  Will definitely keep this in mind on future Forester product purchases.  Thanks.
