Title: cs-271t ignition coil interchangeablilty
Post by: joat on April 18, 2018, 12:26:33 pm
My ignition coil died a couple of days ago.   Looking at the parts diagrams, I see that different coil part nos. are listed for different serial no. ranges.  So for my saw, s/n C21112001001 - C21112999999 they list coil #A411001311 which goes for about $85-$100 (or even more).  But newer versions of this same saw with s/n C67115001001 - C67115999999 call for coil #A411001510 which is available for a little over $40.

The thing is, all of these saws use the exact same cylinder P021038050 and the exact same rotor A409001130.  So it seems that the coils should be interchangeable.   Can anyone confirm that?

I called Echo but couldn't get connected to anyone able to answer technical questions.

He would know. He is a dealer in the know on these things. Check his website out and give him a email or call.

Thanks.  I did call this afternoon but didn't reach him -- then saw on the website that he closes at noon Wednesday.  Will try tomorrow.

Did you get hold of Nate?

He just said this =  crank is different part number, assume the keyway is in a different location and coil timing is different but trying to call in to tech and see if they happen to know for sure
