1st post, I somehow failed to add oil to my 2 cycle gas can and destroyed my new MS 271 cylinder and piston. :-\
The local Stihl dealer wants about $300 to replace the cylinder and piston, seems excessive.
I am able to find an aftermarket piston for about $30 bucks, but not a cylinder.
I am seeing a lot of aftermarket cylinder piston kits for many other models in the $40 range, all with great reviews.
Anyone know where I can get a cylinder to fit this MS 271?
On one site it looked like the MS 261 and MS 271 used the same cylinder, is this true?
Cheer,

261 and 271 cylinder not the same.
271 can be taken up to the bigger bore 291. Share same chassis.
