No information there but 65cc might be possible as the TS400 was that size.

I guess the TS400 65cc example doesn't mean anything as the TS500i was only 72 cc.
The MS500i is 80cc.

It's Official, MS400 CM , 66.8cm, power: 4kw, weight: 5.8 k.g.
Here's a attachment.

Yeah a guy from Canada was telling me about it yesterday. He was saying how good stihl was keeping this one quite.
stihl 400 specs
-
It could quite possibly turn out as a fuel injected "i", or a variety of options. Rumor mill from the same source says new 880 or 881.

I have heard that one for awhile now too.

Read as of now, the ms400 replaces the 362 67cc replacing 59cc cool

Before I look at link to see, I read a smart connector yesterday after asking.
LOL yep it was

I heard the MS400 has a ceramic coated piston.
-
Interesting

I heard the MS400 has a ceramic coated piston.
stihlguy just told me this = I saw a prototype of this unit while at training at STIHL. It was used for straight gas seizure training and at that time it had a ceramic coated, magnesium piston. There wasn't any real benefit to the ceramic coating apparently, so now it's solely magnesium.
It wasn't clear if it would replace or stand along side the 362, but it does utilize many of the 362 components.

Stihl 400 881 prices. This what you seeing Ed?
-
Man if those specs hold true and she rips. That 400 going to be a winner.
12.8lbs PHO 66.8cc 5.4bhp seems like a winner. What I thought of was the ole husky 266 66.7cc almost 12oz more PHO.
Guy I know from racing days. He is in the FB chainsaw repair group in the thread. = The one I tested had a 25 on it. Didn't have any issues falling medium sized oak and hickory. I'm calling it the 362 Super as it shares majority of the parts. It does spool quicker and recover revs faster than a 362.

Some info from a guy from Norway running the 400 881. 70" plus bar on 881 === I have used the 400 and it is a stonking saw. Really aggressive and pretty light. I thought it was more of a replacement to the 362. A little bit heavier but considerably more poke.
Also used the 500i and the 881. The 500 has been out a while in Norway, seems a good saw but I wonder how long it would last in a logging scenario.
The 881 we used for a bit of milling. Seems to be a good saw but hard to tell what it would be like. We had a 70+” bar on it and a Panther chainsaw mill. It was pretty heavy.

At US dealers now. Dealers on FB CRG showing them off.
-
Nice looking timbersports bar for them.
The XX and XXX timbersports bar
-
1 of the 5 local stihl dealers has the 400. 2 in stock right now.
STIHL MS400cm 20” bar 12.8 pounds 66.8cc 3/8 saw pitch
$899.99 plus tax
-
Yes confirmed with this pic on CRG. Love that set up.
-
been running one for over a couple weeks now , 20 inch light weight bar setup, very nice saw to run and cut with , been mainly cutting bigger white pine with it but have some good size oak to cut in the next couple days . Its supper light and very smooth on my hands

Hey man site looks great, apologies for taking so long to register just got back on arborist and remembered you starting this one.
Anyway I have a 400 and putting it in the wood for the first time tomorrow.
I have already ordered the following parts without even using it because the new clutch cover set up sucks arse.
Extended clutch cover 441 model
Brake release spring cover 362 model
661 Bumper sipkes with the sligh mod to the bottom for the curve housing.

I just use the website to store info from the chainsaw repair group FB I created.
Everything went social media and forums are just dead anymore IMO.

I wonder if any truth to this? So cool if no smearing. Copy paste =
(((((The Mag piston isn’t for weight reduction as much as it’s for warranty issues. That info is coming form a licensed Stihl dealer and tech who attended the dealership meetings at Stihl USA.
It seems that Mag won’t stick to Nikasil like aluminum will. So any overheating/straight gas/other user issues result in a scored piston with no meaningful cylinder damage at all. Another piston can be popped in and the saw can be run again.
Again, that’s info I got from a very reputable source.)))))

I find it hard to believe since the MS400 was just released for sale here not long ago .
But rumor is the Stihl 400i version suppose to be out there getting tested. Suppose to be some in US too.
IMO they are trying to go the route cars did. To slow up the shade tree mechanics from working on everything so you have to pay the big bucks to get looked at.
Pic just for attention.

Guess I havent been keeping the info updated here. Seems there is lot of issues.
Older info on CRG FB.
Newest today.
5 saws 2 months to under a year of use.
RLee
The ring stop on intake side of piston is centered with intake port on the jug. Top ring breaks right at the stop. After some wear on cylinder wall and the rings it’s letting that ring come out far enough that it catches on the intake port and snaps it. I’ve got 5 engines in my shop from rebuilds that all look identical.

Older pics from a earlier thread last year.
