Title: Husky 460 oil not getting onto bar
Post by: JakesHusky on November 01, 2019, 03:11:55 pm
Hello all,

so i have a new little problem on my 460 Rancher. After a good cleaning and getting ready to go cut firewood, i put my bar and chain back on, and gave it a quick test and i noticed that barely any oil at all was slinging off the chain, and instead it was running down the side of where the bar mounts. I Cleaned out the hole and guide slot on the bar, and also tried another bar and fired it up again. same problem. It appears almost that the bar isnt sitting flush up against the little oval shaped peice that the oil comes out of so it just drools down instead of going into the hole on the bar. At least thats all i can think of. plenty of oil is pumping but its not going where it should. If anybody knows what the oval shaped peice is called i would appreciate that info, and if anyone has an idea of another possible cause that would be great as well.

husqvarna 460 rancher ipl  https://www.hsqintec.sk/vykres/455e460-09.pdf

Think your talking about part #14 in IPL. Check to make sure the IPL I picked goes along with year of your saw 2009. Sometimes they update them and change a part. Then a new IPL comes out.

Sorry for my lack of knowledge, but what is the IPL. I do think that is the part I'm talking about though. but out of curiosity what might make that part not seal against the bar, so I can avoid this problem in the future. thank you

On a stihl 029 which had bar shoulders. The stud was out some not allowing bar to set flush. With yours I doublt this is the case being small mount husky 455 460 studs dont use shoulders.

Check and see if the area is heat warped or bar bent etc. Can only guess online.
