She looks good, is it true that these saws need 16:1? I would need the 530019059 seals for this chainsaw?

I have a craftsman 2300cva runner on the shelf I would sell dirt cheap.  Some fasteners are wrong for it on handle.

Hey one more question if ya dont mind. I repaired the oiler with a new duckbill(the one that is behind the clutch). I was wondering is that screen necessary because i grinded it off with a machine.

I never had to repair one as I have plenty of good used from parts saws.

But here is a thread on the info. http://chainsawrepair.createaforum.com/poulan/check-valve-poulan-micro-saws/msg56716/#msg56716

Negatron. That ratio is with actual motor oil. Using a good synthetic 2-cycle oil you can run that saw on 50:1 with carb properly tuned.

So is it true that 50:1 is just some epa crap then? It seems people like 40:1 more than 50:1.

To me 50:1 is  EPA BS.   I wont run at that ratio myself.

Dealers have to tell you to run the 50 ratio ;) and they like selling you OPE

I would never run 50-1 either.    You know it is not only the cylinder and rings that depend on that oil but the rod bearings and crank bearings.
There have been some early failures on bearings because of the lack of oil.

I am just wondering if i will have to adjust the carb for a newer poulan for it run 40:1?

Are you saying your running 50:1 in a newer 5020 poulan and if you went to 40:1 would you need to adjust carb?

If you are tuned right on with 50:1 and went to 40:1 without tuning it could be little lean or not. Seen both.  Just adjust the carb to mix ratio being used.
But if your tuned fat at 50:1 and go to 40 you might notice it running better.

----------------------------------

Going backwards here. I tune all saws that comes in with 40:1. I tell folks this.  I have only ever had to retune 2 that come back because folks ran 50:1 and with their mix saw was tuned to fat.

Hope all of that makes since.

I was just wondering about, i have 2 chainsaws. One is a little poulan from the 70s and one is a newer poulan one from a couple of years ago. I was curious if you could adjust a new one to 40:1 that would normally run modern 50:1, Thanks.

Yep.

My new poulan 2013 I swear even came with 40:1 mix bottle. I dont ever recall a poulan saying run 50. I could be wrong though.

Yep page 10 40:1 https://images.homedepot-static.com/catalog/pdfImages/61/61edc374-df0a-4c2f-935e-cfb6d6cbc188.pdf

I think I may have a newer 4218 I took on trade still. I will see what it has on it.

2017 4218 manual does say 50:1 on it  https://www.poulanpro.com/us/support/owners-manuals/

Nothing on the newer yellow 4218 I have. But I adjusted it to 40:1 when it came in. Takes a spine tool or redneck bic pen ;)
