Title: Husqvarna 3120 hotsaw
Post by: Cut4fun on March 02, 2011, 08:06:35 pm
This is a full out piped racesaw hotsaw 3120 on muffler. The chain is a CRAP chain I found in a box with dinged cutters. The crap chain and crap operator does not do this Cliff Helsel built 3120 any justice.

They are just that fast. You should see them with good race chain like in the Chardon videos.

My saw it had no two piece head, no external transfers, on gas.
It's had more work done since then, and has gotten faster.

Yeah I have noticed since the pa gtg you have jumped in with both feet. Enjoy the ride.

I had the good fortune of a couple builders willing to work with rookie like myself, and have helped me out immensely.

Looks like you going to have some fun this summer Cale.   ;D

Sure wished I had known about this stuff back when I was in my early 20's  :'(, heck I might have been able to run a real hotsaw like I had in the end  :o :o.

Me too, I spent my early 20's wasting money on tattoos, and booze. It took me until my late 20's to realize I should have been wasting money on chainsaws. I've always been a gearhead, and saw racing by comparison, is the cheapest fix for my love of loud, fast stuff.

I was probabley 40-50 feet away when Cliff H won the international at the Paul Bunyan show . It happened so fast my camera could not update fast enough to get more than two pictures .

Funny as he was warming up the saw prior to the cut I thought it seemed a tad big rich .When that thing hit the wood it was like the after burner of a jet engine kicked in .I've never seen anything like that before or since .

He's been on here before with like a 188 or something? It was determined then who he was and where in Canada he was from.

that saw was performing.
can't believe how drop starting a saw and no ear protection is allowed, no disrespect to the guy or where that show was, it just does not happen here in our organised arenas.

That's a Mark Eckhardt saw that he built for George Harrison. Mark had a little help from Cliff on it.

I think Harrison ran it at Tuolomne a couple years ago and it fell off the pipe or ran out of fuel in the last part of the cut.  Pretty sure it's 62mm. One of EJ or Eds Wisecos.

That was his gas 3120, he hasn't ran the alky 3120 at a show yet.
