Dolmar 7300 back firing aka sheared key. Not needed. So cleaned up both sides lined up and tightened down. Coil gap imo to tight so just used my business card to reset gap. Fired right up and running.

Test cutting and wont go full throttle.
Well this saw has more issues. New boot was installed at a shop. The dang flange is broke and someone tried using a wrong size nut and basically slides onto the carb bolt. So only 1 side was even securing the carb.
So got it torn apart with a new little bolt that fits the carb bolt and trying to redneck it into the flange. If this holds tommorrow I wont need to order a flange and 2 square nuts.
Carb was full of fines on both sides too. Dont appear to been apart for a long time. Might need a carb kit too.
Least the H side limiter is now grinded off.

The nut you could basically slide on the carb bolt. New nut one that least goes on right.
Redneck fix for the win. Test cut with 24” full skip and 8t. I would do a 7t myself.

I do not believe I have ever seen a key shear on a chainsaw before. That thing must have come to a stop pretty fast so that the momentum of the fly wheel sheared the key.

Saving info. Fly side crank. He said he cut m8x1.25 threads before reinstalling and then shearing key.
I think it was more of both surfaces wasnt cleaned good and fly not tightened good. Just my WAG
He also had used red loctite. Thanks goodness it didnt hold on nut.
Pic of threads before die used. They looked good when I seen them now. But was leery to tighten down like I normally do.

Dolmar 7300 scored cylinder. Going to see if can save cylinder.
He said new intake boot had tore and cylinder bolt had came out after 2 tanks on a rebuild. :o ???

Owner and small shop south together I think. He said the shop pressure tested and it was all good when cylinder put back on.
I ask owner if cylinder had been cleaned up before. He said yes by him.

Well it would not be the first time I have seen cylinder bolts come loose. I have a Stihl that I bought used and about 2 years after I had it the cylinder bolts came loose.

Unless I'm mistaken a 7300 Dolmar is the same as a 7300 Makita which is the same basic engine as the two DPC 7321 concrete saws I've been tinkering with .50 mm bore 37 mm stroke Different ratings ranging from 5.1 to 5.6 HP .
I'm thinking I ran a new one as a demo brought by a dealer to one of the GTG's some time ago and it had plenty of go get-em . I can't remember though exactly when or where .That said it's the only one I've ever seen .
What I do remember was it was a pretty plump log around 40 inch and it never as much as hickuped going through it wearing a 24" .
