Title: dolmar 166 oilers
Post by: Cut4fun on March 03, 2011, 02:33:13 pm
Pay attention to the oiler gears in the 166's on replacement. There is fine and coarse.

I found out the hard way and stripped a brand new oem oiler gear out.  If it pulls over hard, it might just be the gears not meshing right to the worm gear on crankshaft ;) .  Then like a big dummy you go ahead and start it and this is what you end up with.

A good set of eyes is important and attention to detail only made a damm site harder when the saw is obselete

Any of you 166 owners run across this too?  Maybe a dealer has seen it or info on the 2 different oiler gears and worm gears.
