Title: Husky 34 Deluxe - How to remove manual oil pump?
Post by: johanvm on March 29, 2012, 03:59:44 pm
Hi, I have an old chainsaw with a manual oil pump that has stopped working. I've tried to pull the plunge manually up and down several times but no oil comes out through the hole at the sward.
I've removed the two screws at the nylon part on top and carefully tried to bend it up with a screw driver, but it is so stuck to the chassi that I fear it might break.
Please, is there anyone with knowledge of this kind of vintage pump that can give me some tips about how to remove it (or maybe fixing it w/o removing it)?

Thanks!
/Johan

Never seen a 34 before. Here is a husqvarna 34 IPL to help maybe.   http://s30387.gridserver.com/partsDiagrams/Husqvarna%2034.pdf

Hi, thanks a lot for the spare parts image!
That's a very good start.

OK, now it's fixed -  Twisting and turning made the cover come off. The rubber seal on the piston had conformed to the bent shape and wasn't sealing anymore against the wall. I just had to flip the rubber ring upside down to make it tighter and now the pump works again.
Thanks!

I don't have a model 34. But I do appreciate when someone makes the effort to follow-through and especially post pics.
