Title: 009"L"
Post by: Artisan on May 14, 2012, 12:14:49 am
Hello Gents,

Artisan here, slipped in from over at TBN. Love chainsaws and hope to learn
a thing or three from this forum.

I found out a couple days ago there is a brother to my 009 Stihl,
there is a 009L model. I see the 009L model has a bigger engine.
What does the "L" stand for? Anyone know? "L"ogger perhaps?

Thank you in advance!

Artisan

Welcome to the site glad to have you with us.  I have a 009L and I don't have a clue what the L means.  I'm not a Stihl man.  Good saws just not for me.

Interesting... So per THIS LIST (http://www.getsaws.com/S_specs.html)
009    is 36.6 CC's
009L is 40.8 CC's
and "Product Wiki" says; The 009 L does not have anti-vibration mounts, or easy access air filter.

No AV mounts on my 009L.  What size is the set screw that goes in the gas tank vent on 009 and 021-025.  I'm guessing 3mm.
