Might have to keep this 45cc 346. I forgot how well they run.

Compared it to my hacked ported echo 490 50cc with 3/4" pipe muffler mod.

The 45cc was right there with it stock and quite as can be. Husky with coil spring antivibe was so much smoother too.

The 152 is not a clam shell. Plastic case. Vertically split metal crankcase.

Just to show what you said. Plastic case with a mag case bolted inside that to bolt cylinder to.

One I had apart.

Finally broke down and bought one today to see for myself.

I always passed on 61’s in past.

But this 1 owner hooked me to see what they run like. 1986 per Corey so I made sure I was guessing right.

Retired guy that had forgot he even had 2 chainsaws.

Said been setting for years now. Found it de-cluttering his shop.

Prob will clean up to be a nicer one I have seen.

Brake band still good too. 😎

Stop switch broken off in back of it.

Has spark so that’s a good sign.

Hope to do this today. Going to compare with my hacked on echo 50cc to see if I can feel the difference in vibrations felt to the hands. 346 OE stock as can be and 45cc.
I could tell that big time running 372 and 440 back to back.
Friend says he can feel that on the echo of his and then switch to husky 550 346. I never noticed it running the echo before.

Pics before decals.  Just air and brush cleaned.

PSI check after running and still warm.

1999 OE 346 cleaned up good just with air and brush. Better then I figured. Didn’t do a complete tank separating deep clean though.

Don’t even know if I am going to use my wd40 cleaner degreaser.

One small top cover crack at rear.

Starts run fine. Tuned safe in mid 12’s till I run some more. Think these were the ones that could be tuned 14.1K stock? - Updated from CR thread. 14.7K on OE max rpm

Was missing 1 carb fastener, 1 inner chain brake fastener in clutch cover, wrong lower handle fasteners.  Not bad for that many years.

Nicer then I figured would be  under the grime.

The early OE saws used this style. The later NE used another different style.

Contacted the repop decal makers to have the early OE decal made like this. 3 of us on CR group need already.

This one.
