I had a Weed Eater hedge trimmer that wouldn't run. I replaced the fuel lines and rebuilt the Zama. Stihl wouldn't draw fuel. Not even the purge bulb.

This thing had a regular size fuel line for the return from the purge bulb. The fuel supply line is a tiny thing.

The fuel lines came down off the carb and through the handle and down into the tank. There were several turns and opportunities to kink.

I finally found that the two little clips they used to Siamese the supply and return fuel lines were squeezing the small fuel supply line shut.

I removed the clips and put a loose wire wrap there to keep the fuel lines together.

The hedge trimmer started up and ran fine after that.

I took the handle back apart and fought with the new lines to keep them from kinking.

Speaking of which, hedge trimmers I have an Echo that some times runs some times not .It probabley has something to do with fuel delivery .If it starts I use it .If not I clip the hedge with a chainsaw, simple as that .

My lawdy I'm getting a collection of non runners I can't seem to find the time to fix At least a half dozen weed wackers ,two or three blowers and heavens only knows how many saws. They were all freebies so I'm not out any money which is good in one respect .

I've used a chainsaw a few times on the shrubs myself. My wife gets disgusted with me and says that it harms the bushes.

I have four hedge trimmers and all are double sided. I went and got them all going this past week and did all the hedges and shrubs around the house.
Weed Eater 20" 21cc single action I've had this one since 1998
Echo 20" 21cc 1500 double action my favorite is a 2002 model
Stihl 20" 25cc H80 double action is the most powerful and cuts the biggest stems but weighs more too. I got it used a few years ago. Don't know the age.
Homelite Bandit 16" 16cc Bandit single action is more than 20 years old. My second one and it has had the blades replaced about 12 years ago.

Laughing to myself. I once caught H double LL when I trimmed up some kind of wild growing bush in the back area. Never again.

1st mow of year.

I hadnt mowed the last couple years with the ole IHC in the 70's with 10hp kohler.  Had made it a dedicated rear tiller puller for gardening.
Reason was it was struggling with the 44" deck in thick taller grass.

Well today I spent a good while working with the 3 blades and got them to where I thought they should cut good and lasting edge till I hit something.

Ole Cub pulled her share today mowing half of the acres and only notice it start to pull down only in the deepest thickest areas.

Just glad to see the ole girl being able to cut it again.

The other 2003 with 23hp kohler command and 50" deck no problems as usall in the thick stuff.

2nd mow of season. The 50" deck one the wife uses.  Said she heard loud metal sounds and shut it off as quick as she could. I was thinking  the worse, motor. Went to start nothing, hmmm she still had blades on.  Cool turn off switch and fires up. OK nothing.  Shut down look underneath didnt see anything.
So start up and turn on blades.  Vibration like crazy.

Thinking spindles or blades.

Take to barn and jack it up and found it  ;D. About 6-8 inches missing off end of middle blade.  Still havent found missing section in yard.  :-X

I lost the cutting end of a blade on a push mower very early 60's. It bent the deck on the left side where the chunk hit. Glad it didn't hit my foot.
