I've been in your shoes with several chainsaws. Some are not the most logical devices in existence.

I've had to get away from distractions and study them some and then try them out to see if they work.

I have a Dolmar 111i that has been apart several times and I have to re-figure the throttle out every time. I have the shop manual but it lacks detail on the throttle rod.

Actually nothing to it but the rod's certainly not logical until you study it.
We should share what we know... someone may learn...
