Partner/Husqvarna K700 Cutoff Saw IPL and SM Needed
« on: January 25, 2014, 08:16:21 pm »
Hello gents,

I need an IPL and Workshop Manual for a Partner K700 demo saw.

On Barrett's site I found an IPL for the Husqvarna branded K650, but not the 700 (and no mention of Partner........although I understand that these machines are actually Husqvarnas, and were just branded as Partners here in the US).

From what I've gathered from ebay listings (which aren't always correct), the P/C for the 650 and 700 are the same.  Don't know for sure however.

I'll most likely be putting an aftermarket P/C on this machine and either keeping it or sending it on down the road.  Thanks in advance!

I think the cut-off saw is timed for a lower rpm than the chainsaw versions to keep from blowing up the blade?

You're correct.  Most of these types of machines have some sort of governor.  The saws built over the last 30 years or so usually have limited ignitions.  Earlier machines (such as a Homelite XL-98 or Poulan 5.2/14) have governed carburetors.

Got it!  Thanks Jim.  Looking at the SM.........it seems this model has a governed carb (like older machines) while the larger K950 and K1250 machines have the limited ignition.  That's interesting, as my machine has a green coil..........and I always thought those were limited.  Could be that this machine has a limited coil too.....
