Stihl Service Manuals
« on: February 15, 2015, 11:44:35 am »
I know about Stihls avability of service manuals.
However, some time back, I was surprised to find a 200t service manual on line for download.
I downloaded, and it was a great help so I saved it in my documents. I went back to it several times but now its gone?? I guess I should have printed it.
I have several documents in the same folder and all the others are still there so, somehow I must have deleted it.
I thought I could still download but can't find it again. Searched my entire computer (programs and files) several times and it doesn't come up.
Was it just a fluke that I was able to find in the first place?

After you have had a couple saws of one family species completely apart you will have the feeling that you know more than the service manual.
We should share what we know... someone may learn...
That knowledge can live after us... and that "Pays It Forward".
Be all that you can be . . .

Over a period of over 50 years of dealing with small engine repair. I have had hundreds of chainsaw engines apart.
One of the best tool a mechanic can have is an exploded view of parts or a service manual.
One example of good information in a service manual is replacing a stihl pole saw oil pump.
If you ever replace one you will see why.
Also found in service manuals is the use of special tools and some even show how to fabricate your own.
Sure some people can figure it out, but that takes time.
