2165 Rebuild
« on: January 04, 2016, 07:28:38 pm »
Had a locked crank in the 2165 bottom end here. I got a nice used crank for it.

I had to hammer the crank around to be able to get the splitter on it. I heated the pockets before I tapped the bearings out.

Started reassembly today after finding the right bearings. I heat the case halves in the oven at 300 for around half an hour. I had to reheat the pocket on the 2nd half. It cooled too much while taking pictures. The flywheel side went all the way in by hand pressure.

I put 518 on the case gasket to help hold it in place. Here it is right after getting the bolts to tighten all the way up. I had to tap on the flywheel side a little to free the crank up. It was a little tight to that side. Hopefully later tonight I'll get the tank off the other saw and put on this case and install a p/c.

I like these pretty good. The 65cc will pull a 24" just like the 372 will.

Here's as far as I got. I need a brake handle and clutch cover to be complete. The rest of the parts are there on the 365 or on the way in the mail.

I have some 365 Specials that I use along with my 372XP's. I choose one or the other in the woods according to the chain

I did not know that.  I may have to keep an eye out for one.
