Inside a Jonsered 2083/2077/2083-2 And a Bicycle!

Certainly not one of my better video's..... More just raw data. Just let the camera run as I was swapping top ends & generally tearing that saw apart. Rambling commentary as well.

Nice job making the Jonsered 2083 run decent with make-do parts of a 2077.

Here are some pictures of my 1984 Schwinn Peloton which I bought new. It is a Columbus SL/SP bike with a Tange fork and headset. The other componentry was Suntour  Superbe Pro with 32H Araya Aero I rims and Clement Condor tubular tires with a Suntour 11-22 corncob freewheel. However it now has 700c X 23.8 aero clincher rims 24H front and 28H rear 3cross with CST Super HP 28mm wire bead tires and a 11-30 8 spd SRAM cassette.

I dont know anything about bikes. But I know them saws pretty good.  Rebuilt 65cc 71cc 77cc 83cc versions myself.

Ron and myself have 066 pistons in are 83cc versions.  I ran gasket and Ron I think didnt.

The bar adjuster is a husky part like many others on it.

Great video IMO.

Ron's findings with his 066 piston.  Remember also aftermarket 066 pistons by different makers do have different specs.

066 Meteor piston is .020 higher then 2083 OEM piston. Squish with gasket, OEM piston was .041. With 066 piston squish is at .021. Comp is at 170 pounds. The 2083 rod is wider than the 066, piston needs to be opened up. Runs good ;).

Mine.

I paid closer attention to my measurements this time and measured the squish.   I came up with .0245 at tightest on the afm 066 piston with USED gasket.

The oem 505 with oem piston on the other saw when I installed today was .040 with NEW oem gasket.

I checked the 425 top before puling it and it was .0435 with used gasket.
