Johnsered 2159 epa.
« on: August 01, 2016, 09:32:53 am »
Bought this saw new in 2004 to go along with my Husky 162SE and Husky 55 epa. Learned with the first time I ran it I was not happy with the easy bake hands so wore a Ove glove when using it. Have had many problems with it way more than any of the husky's, chain oiler stopped working plastic part in the chain brake broke.

I just stuck in under the bench for 4 or 5 years then decided to buy a non cat muffler for it. What a difference that made. No more easy bake hands when using it.

Well with the new non cat muffler and carb opened up, new chain oiler I have came to really like this saw with the 18' bar.
I've ran it almost totally all the time in the last two weeks. really throws the chips.
Is now doing what I expected of it new.

Well, if your p/c ever goes "south", you can put a 346ne kit on it, and that smile you got will widen considerably.  ;D  An easy bolt on.

Make sure to check that it doesn't still have the plastic intake boot clamp, or your nice running saw will be no more!  I got rid of the cat muffler and did a base gasket delete too.  These are a great all around saw.

You most likely have 1 but in addition to the last post, if your having trouble with the muffler bolts coming loose, put a 353/346 muffler brace on it.  The 45mm jugs were the worst about this because of harmonic vibration issues.  The 44mm not so much.  Running it loose will strip out your bolt threads & put a hole in top cover.  That model does not have a plastic case, so your good there.

OK that confirms it you have your series mixed up.

2159 is like the 359 and smaller bore 357.
